Latest news about the 2026 Calendar

Our 2026 Green Capes Dog Guide calendar has officially gone to print!

A big thank you to our printing partner Icon for providing their expertise and support to make sure our calendars look as amazing as they do!

Little Linus, a 12-week-old lab/golden cross, went for a tour of Icon’s facility, posed for some photos with the staff, and approved the first run of the calendar himself.

Stay tuned for the unveiling of the 2026 Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy Calendar cover, coming next month!

Highlights from the Ride for Dog Guides

Green Capes was proud to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s Motorcycle Ride for Dog Guides, presented by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides!

The 3-hour scenic motorcycle ride, which took place on June 21st,raised over $32,000, with 60 riders participating in the event, including one rider from Turner Construction, who has been a great supporter!

The Ride was very special this year as it will be the last one from the present location, and as the major sponsor, Green Capes got lots of coverage.

Green Capes member Tammy Burton gave an amazing talk to the riders before they left. Her focus was on the similarity of dog guides and motorcycle riders, with her key points being:

                1.  Both are highly trained tools for independence.

                2.  Each requires trust and understanding.

                3.  They often draw attention.

                4.  Gear and preparation matter.

“She had the audience enthralled!  I wish I had videoed it but I was too busy listening”, noted one Green Capes member in attendance.

Another Green Capes Member commented “how exciting it was to see the bikes pull into the stop at Mohawk.”

The poker card game this year was a big success, and the BBQ lunch at the conclusion of the ride was excellent.

A huge “Thank you!” to everyone who attended the event, to those who so generously donated, and a special “Thank you!” to Travis, the staff from Dog Guides, and to the Green Capes Members  who contributed to making the event such an amazing success!

Below is a collage of multiple photographs featuring Green Capes members, riders and dogs at the Ride for Dog Guides event. Several people are wearing bright orange “Ride for Dog Guides” T-shirts with “Sponsored by Green Capes” on the back. Riders and Green Capes members are shown interacting with each other, cuddling puppies wearing their green future Dog Guides vests, and selling merchandise. Drinks and cookies were being given to riders at the first stop on the motorcycle ride and the 2025 Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy calendar was being given away to riders at the final Breslau stop.

Major progress on the new school construction

Work on the new school facility is progressing at an incredible rate, and what a better way to describe it than “Wow!  What an incredible facility!”.

So much has been done in just the past two weeks, including work on some of the exterior features.

Below are the latest images from the site.
