Introducing an exciting addition to the Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy Calendar 

With the release of the 2027 Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy Calendar comes and exciting addition that we are sure you will love!

Introducing the Green Capes Calendar Sticker Pack, featuring a variety of adorable puppy stickers that you can use to highlight special occasions and events throughout the year.

From birthdays to Graduation day, and sporting events to special appointments, we have a custom designed sticker to match.

Kids will have loads of fun customizing their calendars with these adorable stickers, and they can even be used to decorate a laptop, cell phone, lunch box or other item of choice!

Available starting in September from schools participating in the Schools Sales Program, at local events or direct from Green Capes members and Community Sales Program volunteers, the sticker sheets will sell for $3 per sheet, or 2 sheets for $5.

These stickers are sure to sell fast, so get yours before their gone.

 

“Congratulations!” to the Truro & District Lions Club  

The Green Capes Lions Club is pleased to announce this year’s winner of the Lions Sales Program (LSP) Early Bird sales promotion.

Congratulations go to the Truro & District Lions Club in Nova Scotia’s District N2.

The promotion is open to all Lions Clubs who submit an order for calendars on or before June 30th.  Each club who places an order gets an entry for a draw to receive $200 off their calendar purchase.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated!

2027 fundraising off to a great start

The start of the 2027 fundraising season is off to a great start!

The first event, held at the Mackenzie Center Mall in Mackenzie, B.C., brought in a total of $576 in merchandise sales, and $140.20 in donations.

The second event, held at the Canadian Tire store in Prince George, B.C., brought in a total of $2,172 in Merchandise sales, and $802.85 in Donations.

The Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy Calendar, dog treats and chocolates were the top selling items at the events.

Upcoming Events

The Green Capes Lions Club will be conducting events in the following locations this month:

September 12th & 13th – No Frills, Quesnel, B.C.

September 25th &26th – Canadian Tire, Fort St. John, B.C.

Coming up later this year, the Green Capes Lions Club will be conducting events at the following locations in B.C.:

October 2nd and 3rd – Canadian Tire, Prince George, B.C.

October 24th and 25th – No Frills, Quesnel, B.C.

November 13th and 14th – Home hardware, Fort St. John, B.C.

November 27th and 28th – Mackenzie Center Mall “Plaid Friday”, Mackenzie, B.C.

December 11th and 12th – Mackenzie Center mall, Mackenzie, B.C.

Green Capes Lions Club is looking for a new Treasurer

Do you have a background in accounting, and are interested in joining a fun and exciting group of friends?

The Green Capes Lions Club is looking for a new or existing club member to take over the Treasurer position on its Operating Committee, and would love to hear from you!

Anyone wishing to assume the Treasurer position would work with the existing treasurer during the remainder of the current fiscal year, and would take over  the position at the start of the  2027/2028 fiscal year.

Are you interested in helping Canadians with disabilities receive the gift of independence, safety and happiness a dog guide brings?  Then how about becoming a member of the Green Capes Lions Club, and helping us raise funds in support of the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides!  Not sure if becoming a member is right for you?  No problem - you can join the club for free as a trial member for two months, and see what we are all about!

Did you know that there are fewer than 25 full-time members at Green Capes? Anyone is welcome to join, from anywhere in Canada! Most members are past or present puppy raisers, graduates and supporters, and we all work together to help make today’s puppies tomorrow’s Super Heroes!

Green Capes meets monthly via Zoom and currently conducts events in southern Ontario and northeast British Columbia.  Not only do we help raise funds in support of Dog Guides, we also work to spread knowledge and awareness about dog guides, and the benefits they bring to Canadians.

For a small annual fee of $97 (pro-rated, if applicable), plus a one-time Lion’s International setup fee of $50 for new memberships, full members are able to host and participate in fundraisers, lead or participate in various club committees and enjoy various fun and exciting members-only club activities.  Full members also have a voice at our monthly and annual member’s meetings, and can vote on various motions that will help guide our future!  Members can even run for a position on the Club Executive, and help be a guiding light for the club and our future goals!

There is no better time to join, and a great opportunity to change the life of a person with a disability.  Join the Green Capes Lions Club today, and help make today’s puppies tomorrow’s Super Heroes!
