The Green Capes team raises $4270 for the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides event

On May 25, the Green Capes Lions Club participated in the annual Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides fundraising event, and this year our team raised $4270 for Dog Guides!

“The Walk for Dog Guides was so much fun this year. In Oakville they had a live musician, delicious burgers from the Works, and of course my lab Abby loved laying in the puppy pools to cool off on a hot day! It was a great day to raise money for LFCDG!”, reports Green Capes President Serena Daub.

The 3 hour scenic motorcycle ride takes place on June 21 starting at the Oakville training school and ending at the Breslau facility (near Guelph).

This year’s goal is $40,000 and the funds raised will help match more life-changing Dog Guides with those who need them most, empowering freedom, confidence, and independence for individuals across the country.

Major progress on the new school construction

The past few weeks has seen some amazing progress  on the new school building, as crews work hard to build the interior walls and begin roofing the structure.

Featured below are 7 images from the site.  In the center is Supervisor Turner in front of the construction office.  Clockwise, from the upper right, are images from the south West showing the huge amount of work already done, the hustle and bustle of the work site, a South view of the site, interior walls being built along with the miles of piping that are being installed, and work being done on the roof of the building.
