Green Capes Super Pup Newsletter

December 2025

Hello everyone! Here is a special holiday message from Green Capes to you!

In this issue, an update on the Green Capes Challenge – how will you make a difference, tips for great calendar sales, highlights from recent events and much more!

The Green Capes Challenge:

How Will You Make A Difference?

The total continues to grow!  We set a goal of $10,000 to be raised by the Green Capes Super Pup Team on the Dog Guides Peer-to-peer fund raiser platform, and to date your generosity has brought in over $14,200!  Despite having reached our initial goal, the challenge is still on!  With your support, we can get the total even higher!

Every calendar sold helps Dog Guides provide Canadians with disabilities the independence, safety and companionship of a Dog Guide.  We’re challenging YOU to step up for Dog Guides by choosing one of the following ways to get involved:

  •  Join the Green Capes Team on the Dog Guides peer-to-peer platform by clicking the link below and clicking ‘Join Us’: https://events.dogguides.com/fundraisers/greencapessuperpups
  • Sell 2026 Green Capes Dog Guide Puppy Calendars  –  an adorable daily reminder of the incredible service dogs in training. 100% of the net proceeds of this calendar are donated to LFCDG.

Want to join us in selling calendars? Here’s how it works:

Local CSP: If you can pick up calendars from a distribution point (Oshawa, Toronto, King City, Etobicoke, Oakville, Dundas, Guelph or Shakespeare) you can order calendars from us at no cost, sell them to friends, family, co-workers, in stores etc. for $20, and then you e-transfer the funds for the ones that you have sold! You simply return any unsold calendars to us, which makes this program easy, simple and absolutely risk-free!

Distance CSP: For those farther away, you first sell calendars for $20, collect the funds, then place one order for 10+ calendars by November 30 and e-transfer the funds to us. We will ship the calendars you have sold to you and then you can distribute them.

Together, we can help Dog Guides continue to make a difference.

Tips for Great Calendar Sales

Are you interested in selling calendars, but not sure who to approach, or what technique works best?  Green Capes would like to offer some tips and suggestions from our club members and dedicated volunteers on what has worked for them in the past.

The most recent submission comes from Green Capes member Karen, who recommends putting a label on each calendar you sell, with your name, contact information and price, so that should the person buying the calendar, or someone they know, wish to buy another, they will know how to reach you.  In addition, putting the QR code for the LFCDG Difference campaign on the label will also give them a quick and easy way to donate.

If you have any ideas you would like to share with others, please send them to me********@********es.com, and they will be posted anonymously in upcoming newsletters.

Let’s help each other, and make this year our best ever for calendar sales!

Highlights from our recent fundraiser events

Two more fund raisers were held in British Columbia this past month, and once again, a huge “Thank you!” goes to the residents of Fort St. John and Mackenzie for their overwhelming support!

On November 7th and 8th, an event was held at the Home Hardware store in Fort St. John.  The event was a joint fundraiser, conducted in partnership with the Bert Bowes Middle School.  Green Capes was on site to sell GC merchandise and collect donations, while the Bert Bowes Middle School, as part of the Green Capes School Sales Program, was present to sell calendars to the public.

For each calendar sold, $10 went to support the Bert Bowes Middle School Junior At-risk Youth program, while the remaining $10 went to Green Capes.  In total, 21 calendars were sold by the school, and a grand total of over $2,200 was raised at the event!

Then, on November 28th, a one-day event was held at the Mackenzie Center Mall in Mackenzie.  With our 2026 Dog Guide Puppy Calendar, chocolates, dog treats and various other GC branded merchandise available for sale, Green Capes brought in a one-day total of just over $970!

Onn November 15th/16th and 22nd/23rd, Green Capes was present at two events in Whitby and Oshawa at the Rens Pet Store, where a total of 71 calendars were sold and $60 was raised in donations!
