Green Capes presents a cheque to LFCDG at the Difference Campaign launch

On June 10th, The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides officially launched the Difference Campaign!

The launch of the Difference Campaign marks the beginning of the final push to raise the last $10 million needed to fully fund the new $50 million dog guide training facility currently being constructed.

With an expected completion date in early 2026, the new state-of-the-art dog guide training facility will greatly expand Dog Guides’ ability to provide service dogs to clients across Canada.

Various GCLC members attended the event, and presented the final $75,000 cheque that marked the fulfillment of our pledge to donate $250,000 towards the new facility entrance.

The Lions Foundation of Canada greatly appreciates the ongoing support from Green Capes, and a special thank you goes to Green Capes Member Lynne for giving an outstanding acceptance speech on behalf of the Green Capes Lions Club.

Updates on the new school construction

There have been some significant developments this past month with regards to the progress of the construction on the new training school, including the arrival of a new “Project Supervisor”.

“Project Supervisor” Turner, the construction crews foster puppy, has arrived on site to oversee the construction, bring some fun and play to the worksite and give his “four paws up” approval as concrete is poured for the foundation walls.

Pictured below is Foster puppy Turner, with his fosters Zafer and Lara, Turner with the site Supervisor, and two photos showing crews framing and pouring the foundation walls.  Exterior walls are already in place, and the framing for the remaining walls is in place.
