Hello Everyone! Here is the latest news and updates from the Green Capes Lions Club. See below for highlights from the Community Sales Program official launch and other events, an introduction to our newest member, a chance to see the new Superpup Team, and much more!
Highlights from the CSP Launch and other events in September
September 10th marked the official launch of the new CSP program for 2023, and with just under 1,500 calendars already ordered through our community sales program, our 2023 CSP is off to a great start!
If you are looking for a way to give back to Dog Guides, or are looking for a wonderful community to join, the Super Pup Community Sales Program is here for you. Simply sell calendars to friends, family, and in your neighborhood and help to raise some much needed funds and awareness for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. As you only pay for the calendars you sell, this program is simple and risk free. You can join from anywhere in Canada! So what are you waiting for? Head on over to greencapes.com/CSP to learn more about the program and order some calendars!
Our new line of T-shirts and Winter Toques were introduced at the September 16 LFCDG Volunteer BBQ in Breslau and the September 17 Halton K9 Event in Oakville. Response has been outstanding, and there are only a few of the toques left. Be sure to get your order in before their gone!

A number of new volunteers came to the events and signed up for the new CSP program this year! Thank you to everyone who joined us!
If anyone is looking for help or ideas on how to sell the calendars, we have a number of resources available online to help. From sample social media advertising ideas and pictures, to ways to keep track of orders, we’ve got you covered!
And remember, the proceeds from the sale of each calendar helps make today’s puppies tomorrow’s Superheroes!
Say hello to the latest member of the Green Capes team!
The Green Capes Lions Club is proud to introduce Angela Watts, the newest member of the GC Team!
Angela officially joined the team on September 1, 2023, is a member of the CSP Committee, and has been helping with events, including arranging the upcoming October 1st event at Bronte Harbour in Oakville.
When asked what interested her in joining the GC team, Angela wrote:
“Barrie and I have been Dog Guide fosters for 35 years and we have always enjoyed partaking in fundraising/public awareness events. More recently I worked with the K9 group for a few years selling chocolates and then in 2019 I moved to selling calendars with Green Capes. I am selling them through a variety of outlets – Senior’s homes, Garden centers, hair dressers and one hugely supportive Vet Clinic – and we also take the puppies in to visit, sell the calendars personally and let people meet the puppies, which is very popular and fun for us. This year we are looking for a poodle to join us, so if you know anyone who might be interested please let me know.
I have enjoyed working with the Green Capes team, you are hard-working, very supportive and with a super positive attitude that makes it all fun. All good reasons to join and see how I can help. So far it is mostly a learning experience, helping to organize events and keeping track of calendar sales, but looking good!“
Welcome to the Green Capes team, Angela!
